Attitude is 100% in life


From my point of view, attitude is 100 % in life. Everyday we have to face challenges in our work place, we have to make important decision in our daily life and make other important things. Like it or not, we have no choice but to follow the norm. This situation may depressed us and make us feel furious or angry. This is where our attitude plays a big role in controlling ourselves.

Usually, people with good attitude are the one who have self-control,happy and more successful than those who do not have. Recently, while i was still studying in Labuan Matriculation College, there was an educational programme organized by the college. There was a speaker who talked about the importance of attitude. He said," Mathematically, if you arranged the number 1 until 27 according to the alphabets, from A to Z and you add the sum of the word ATTITUDE, the answer will be 100.

Of course, we can't simply used this method to prove the theory, this was only used to illustrate the importance of attitude, however there are many living examples that have actually proved this theory. Everyday, when we woke up early in the morning we can choose to be happy by filling our mind with happy thoughts, but we can also choose to be angry and depress all day long by filling our mind with negatives thoughts.

If you have read the book entitled The Power Of Positive Thinking written by the famous 21st century's philosopher Norman Vincent Peale, you will get fully understanding on how our mind work and the power that it possess. Our feeling is largely determine by our thoughts, if you goes around and think about bad things all day long it will affect your mood and conversely, if you think the other way round, the result is Happy.

There was a story of a 92-years old woman who has fully understand the power of the mind. She had a hard time in her life when she became blind and to make matter worse recently at the age of 70, her husband passed away. She has no choice and have to move out to the nursing home. As days passed by, she made the decision and went there. Arriving at that nursing room she was asked to wait at the lobby while the social worker prepare the room for her. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby room, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready.

As she and the social worker walk to the elevator, the worker provided her visual description of her tiny room and the eyeleet sheets that has been swung on her window,' i love it," she replied with enthusiasm. "But Mrs Jones, you haven't seen the room...just wait,'. "Oh dear, that doesn't have anything to do with it," she replied. "Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether i like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ...it's how i arrange my mind. I already decide to love it," its the decision i make every morning when i wake up. I have a choice whether i should spend my time in the bed recounting the difficulty with the parts of my body that are no longer work or get out from the bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes are open I'll focus on each new day and all the happy memories that i have stored away, just for this time in my life".

This is just one of those thousands living examples that was given. As what we can see, she didn't mourn all day long about her troubles instead she approach life positively and live with no regret. This story reminds me about my life in the Matriculation College. When i was just about to enter the college, i kept thinking of the college's dorm as dirty, small, uncomfortable and so on, and when i came there, it really happened. When i looked some of my friends who are usually look things in a positive way, they seemed to be "OK" with that situation, they never whine, complaints or whatsoever.

Obviously their thinking attitude does all the jobs. When they think the best,they get the best and when they get the best, they are happy. The principle is so easy, just think negative thoughts and you will get back negative feedback, think positive thoughts and you will get positive one.
